App permissions (camera, microphone, screen, location)

Open Settings β†’ Privacy & Data and scroll to Sensitive Access (wording may vary slightly; the section lists Camera, Microphone, Screen Sharing, and Geolocation).

Default stance

By default, camera, microphone, screen sharing, and geolocation are blocked until you allow them per app. The app states that changes apply immediately to open app windows.

Per-app toggles

For each installed app you see compact toggles:

Turn a permission on only for apps you trust. Video calls, voice notes, maps, and screen capture tools need the matching toggles.

If you have no apps yet, the section explains you should add apps first.

  • Camera
  • Mic
  • Screen
  • Location

macOS system prompts

On macOS, the app declares usage descriptions for camera, microphone, and location so the system can show native permission dialogs when a site first needs them and your toggle allows it.
